Banish the cottage cheese look this summer

As most women would agree there is something satisfying about seeing our favourite celebrities sporting the cottage cheese skin condition known as cellulite. Even pencil thin celebrities such as Kate Moss and Paris Hilton, who eat healthy 24-7, have a host of personal trainers and nutritionist at their beck and call; show us we all can be privy to an occasional butt and thigh dimple or even two!

Today’s culture sees us living vicariously through celebrity exploits, so, it does us a wee bit of good to note the odd stretch mark or cellulite splashed across magazines in between air brushed Hollywood images. However with endless cash in the bank, Hollywood’s elite can turn to drastic measures to zap that unsightly cellulite away. But back in the real world, with summer fast approaching, women of all ages are thinking ahead to styles that will conceal the orange peel effect.

The Clinic on Belfast’s Lisburn Road offers the perfect treatment to make cellulite a thing of the past – Endermologie LPG®. So now is the time to start taking action to ensure you have enviable legs all summer long.

What is Cellulite?

Cellulite is the non-medical term used to describe the dimpled appearance of skin cause by fat deposits that are just below the surface of the skin. It is usually found on the thighs and back of the legs, upper arms, bottom and stomach, but can in fact form anywhere where excess fatty tissue accumulates.

Cellulite is extremely common, so don’t feel alone. An estimated 90% of all postpubertal women in the UK are affected with this condition. A new survey from FITNESS magazine and Yahoo! that questioned 1,500 men and women, found that 21% of women hate their thighs the most.

What is Endermologie LPG® and how can it help banish your cellulite?

Endermologie® is a non-invasive technique which can improve the appearance of dimpled cellulite skin. The look of cellulite does not necessarily diminish with weight loss and liposuction fails to address the top layer of fat under the skin where cellulite, which is why endermologie® is often recommended by surgeons as a pre and post liposuction treatment.

Originally devised for injuries to muscles, endermologie® is now used as a high tech way of delivering a deep tissue lymphatic drainage massage. Using a hand piece that vigorously ‘rollers’ the skin, it targets the connective tissue just beneath the surface and is able to go much, much deeper than the therapist’s hands, with specific manoeuvres tailored to treat different cellulite types.

Clients are recommended to allow an hour for the treatment which is non-invasive and similar to a gentle massage, although some areas with dense cellulite may be uncomfortable. Benefits include reduction of water retention and bloating, breakdown and elimination of fat cells, detoxification, cellulite reduction and the stimulation of collagen to produce stronger, firmer skin.

All procedures are administered by a fully qualified aesthetic practitioner. Prior to any treatment the experienced team at The Clinic will discuss the process and talk through any questions or concerns you might have. So if you want legs you can be proud to show off this summer rather than hiding them in trousers and long dresses, come to The Clinic for your free consultation and you could have perfectly smooth and dimple free legs in time to flash your pins this summer.
